Disk IO
Wormly Metrics provides Disk IO monitoring - among thousands of other metrics.
The Disk IO trend graph indicates the level of disk activity within a server over time. Disk IO is an important performance metric for web servers as disks are often a major bottleneck that can be responsible for slow web site performance. This is particularly true of database-intensive applications, which tend to be heavy in discrete IO operations even if the total disk throughput (in bytes) remains low.
In the above sample, we can see that shortly before 18:00 a high rate of Data read was recorded (6.34MiB/s), indicating that a large volume of data was read from the disk(s) during that time.
Disk IOPS are another important metric; indicating the number of discrete read and write operations per second performed by a block device.
